Well let’s say we were <———-| (10)

Well the lesser of evils took us to <——-| (7)

Then the next lesser of evils took us to <—-| (4)

Then the next lesser of evils took us to <-| (1)

Then the next lesser of evils took us beyond the pale.

At some point we realized we had a (we were at) 10, but we kept choosing evil – just in smaller increments than what we thought the other guy would. Not only do we need to be intolerant of the here and now, but fight to get back on track – which is even harder.

Change is uncomfortable, sometimes (always) you have to drag people kicking and screaming.
