(after being accused that the military will commit war crimes against the citizens of the USA)
…We have Generals speaking out about the administration, and Captains getting fired just for trying to protect his sailors from coronavirus. We have people like Col. Vindman and every day National Guardsmen (gender not specific) doing their jobs – from high-level information to directing traffic at local testing sites. We have Veterans like me reminding people our oath is against enemies foreign and domestic , and the Veterans on the streets of Portland standing with the wall of moms and the dads with leaf blowers and hockey sticks. We have people young and old, officer and enlisted, active, and retired, all with a unified voice saying, “We will not.”
The US Military is, and has been, a lot of things but a force of oppression against our own families? No. We will have a lot of policy disagreements – there are a lot of liberal Veterans, conservative Veterans, etc., but we’re not a force to disappear our own off the streets….
