Who Knows Better Than Veterans?

Who knows the value of jobs better than we who have done it all, from the ones remembered fondly to the ones we lament. We were tools of war, and nation builders. We were movers of earth and men, food and medicine, as well as hopes and dreams. We were big picture visionaries and detail-oriented operatives. A job failed if we did not complete it ourselves. We learned the value of wisdom, the importance of experience, and the irreplaceable foundation of ethics.

Who knows the value of health care better than we wounded, we who can no longer pursue our dreams but manage what we have left. We traded chasing our individual dreams for the defense of the American Dream. We gave up the horizon of opportunities for a list of leftovers; on that list is still the hope that the people we defended, and those yet to come, will live peaceful and healthy lives. From our duty stations to local posts, and from the time we’re in our boots to the time on our backs, we never have to tolerate the U.S.A.’s role as: leader in cost but not leader in quality.
