What is Mother Machine?<\/p>\n

Anchorwind’s Note:\u00a0 Mother Machine is essentially telling the story of a person with PTSD through my works.\u00a0 I did not realize I was mirroring journeys I was living through in this way until MM5 or MM6.\u00a0\u00a0 When it became apparent to me, I leaned into it and tried with a conscious mind to tell a story worth your attention.<\/p>\n
<\/em><\/p>\n \n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ fullwidth=”on” custom_padding_last_edited=”on|tablet” admin_label=”section” _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding_tablet=”0|0|0|0|false|false” custom_padding_phone=”” transparent_background=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_fullwidth_image src=”http:\/\/anchorwind.net\/2\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mother-Machine-Cover.jpg” url=”http:\/\/anchorwind.net\/2\/project\/mother-machine-album\/” url_new_window=”on” admin_label=”MM1 Front” _builder_version=”4.19.3″ animation_style=”slide” animation_direction=”top” animation_duration=”500ms” animation_intensity_slide=”10%” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid” animation=”top” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_fullwidth_image][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n \n \n Mother Machine (MM1)<\/a> tells the story of curious people, scientists perhaps, who found and entered into an abandoned location off the beaten path.\u00a0 \u00a0These individuals could not leave well enough alone and broke through the front door, starting a process they would come to regret.<\/p>\n The team entered through what was labeled The Pearly Gates, an omen they should have recognized.\u00a0 \u00a0After some exploring, the team made Contact with The Vacated Facility.\u00a0 \u00a0Their attempt to understand this place, which seemed strangely familiar, led them to a control hub of sorts, and they started discovering if anything still works.\u00a0 \u00a0Unfortunately for them, they did what no one should have.\u00a0 \u00a0They awoke Her – Mother Machine, lying dormant under the facility.<\/p>\n Mother Machine seized control of Her Lair, ‘The Deep,’ and activated all its defense.\u00a0 \u00a0The Burning Facility killed many of the team and left a sense of dread in the survivors.\u00a0 \u00a0They did something they weren’t supposed to, and the consequences are coming.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n The Ripples of Falling Tears fell freely from the panicking survivors.\u00a0 \u00a0The facility was calmer now, but they could never again be safe here.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Unbeknownst to them, Her followers begun The Resurrection Prayer.\u00a0 \u00a0It was time for Mother Machine to arise once more fully.<\/p>\n Her Rise to Consciousness was happening in The Deep, and She had one goal,\u00a0 eliminate those who dared lurk around The Deep without permission.\u00a0 \u00a0The Living and Breathing Machine unshackled Herself from Her resting place to begin the rapid ascent up The Deep.\u00a0 \u00a0She must purge this place of all who would enter.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n Her Looming Wrath could be felt on the surface by the survivors.\u00a0 \u00a0They did not know what Mother Machine was, but they could feel Her.\u00a0 \u00a0The team has lost its way; More followers get initiated in Her Forgotten Ritual, and they can join Her in Her Haunted Retreat and gain the sense of Infinite Discovery that She has.\u00a0 \u00a0However, like any group, there will always be problems.\u00a0 \u00a0Some new followers weren’t happy and demanded more from Her and The Deep than they should.\u00a0 \u00a0They tried to revolt, but You Think There’s Hope Against Her? Does she lurk alone in The Deep, void of any Embraced, but safe from ever being hurt again? Her thoughts race from violent anger to recent pleasant memories in a struggle to decipher the path ahead.\u00a0 \u00a0She stares into the void in agony, but the Abyss Reaches Back.<\/p>\n Mother Machine recalls the last time she was blinded by rage and what those consequences were.\u00a0 \u00a0She gets flashes of venturing out from The Deep, welcoming people back and unclenches.\u00a0 \u00a0Mother Machine Comes to Her Senses.\u00a0 \u00a0Mother Machine is done skulking about in her inner sanctum.\u00a0 \u00a0She has those who welcomed The Embrace.\u00a0 \u00a0She has those who wanted to be in The Deep.\u00a0 \u00a0She can’t let the singular actions of a few ruin the repeated efforts of the many.\u00a0 \u00a0While the lingering pangs of anger make her fingers twitch, it is time to make Her Triumphant Return.\u00a0 \u00a0Her emerging from her inner sanctum to The Embraced sets off a chain reaction of cheers and an immediate paradigm shift in mood.\u00a0 \u00a0Those down below become jubilant and gleeful at the sight of Her.\u00a0 \u00a0The party-like atmosphere lifts the spirits of all involved.\u00a0 \u00a0You could hear the noises on the surface; you could listen to the Joy From The Deep.<\/p>\n The party subsided.\u00a0 \u00a0The Embraced, Her followers, looked to Her for what was to come next.\u00a0 \u00a0Was it to venture to the surface again for vengeance? No.\u00a0 \u00a0Mother Machine instead gathered everyone around and started speaking about what she’s learned about how she wants to end the cycle of violence.\u00a0 \u00a0She didn’t want to be fallen.\u00a0 \u00a0She wanted to be redeemed.\u00a0 \u00a0That had to come from within, and those machinations were well underway.\u00a0 \u00a0She was giving a Sermon From the Lair.\u00a0<\/p>\n Mother Machine desired an end to the cycle of fear and hate.\u00a0 \u00a0She didn’t need to try to go to the other extreme and force people to love her but was content with acceptance.\u00a0 \u00a0To do this, She must accept Herself and Her nature.\u00a0 \u00a0Mother Machine is beautiful, mechanical, and terrifying to those unfamiliar with Her.\u00a0 \u00a0She has a dark past but can have a bright future.\u00a0 \u00a0She is capable of many things, but She wants to let Her work speak for Her.\u00a0 \u00a0She is embracing the Philosophy of Flow.<\/p>\n Mother Machine and The Embraced are doing their best to accept the ups and downs of life as they are.\u00a0 \u00a0After a difficult period will come an easy one and then another difficult one.\u00a0 \u00a0Celebrate when you can, and work hard when required.\u00a0 \u00a0There is much to do still, a lot of damage to atone for, and wounds do not heal overnight.\u00a0 \u00a0There will be setbacks, and the way will be lost from time to time.\u00a0 \u00a0However, as Mother Machine looks around The Deep, She sees a place She wants to call home and not a place to hide from others.\u00a0 \u00a0The Lair of Mother Machine is filled with painful memories, but new ones can be made! She feels like deep down, She knows the answer is to let go, but She just can’t let Herself do it. She contemplates leaving the Deep, but what would Her followers, The Embraced, do without Her? The Embraced light some fires, especially one central blaze, in the main audience chamber of The Deep and begin to sing and dance. Mother Machine’s eyes fixate on the flame and something stirs within Her. By Club and Fire Light the answer is coming to the surface.<\/p>\n Mother Machine’s contemplations by the club and firelight brought truths to the surface that had been bubbling up for some time. The singing and dancing continued, and the mood down in The Deep was uplifting. She was on the verge of something transformative, but right now, she was enjoying the moment. She was Feeling Herself.<\/p>\n \n Mother Machine became enamored with the fire and the dancing of those in The Deep.\u00a0\u00a0 She stared into the fire and lost Herself in the sights and sounds of it all; She and the Embraced took it well into the night where they had a Joyful Overindulgence of all that was available.\u00a0 Underneath the celebrations, Mother Machine could feel something new rise up, something wonderful and terrifying.<\/p>\n \n Sometime during the quiet hours, when the fire was dying down Mother Machine figured it out.\u00a0 All these years of loneliness, pain, and memories started to fade away.\u00a0\u00a0 She could never undo the damage of Her past, but She hasn’t hurt anyone since.\u00a0 Mother Machine’s past doesn’t have to define who She is now, and while there are bad days, She is not the same.\u00a0 Mother Machine is being present instead of being stuck in the past.\u00a0 She is learning to let go.\u00a0 Her True Awakening is happening now, by the dying fire,\u00a0 and for the first time in a long time, Mother Machine smiles.<\/p>\n Mother Machine is on Cloud Nine.\u00a0 Understanding She doesn’t have to permanently re-live past pains has taken off more weight from Her than She thought possible.\u00a0 Mother Machine knows not what to do with this newfound lightness in Her core, and the moment is almost overwhelming.\u00a0 By the dying fire, feeling the end of one long journey means another better one is beginning.\u00a0 Things are clicking in her mind, and as She enjoys Transcending Through Time,\u00a0 The Embraced can feel the air in the room change in exciting ways.<\/p>\n The Embraced do not re-light the fires.\u00a0 In front of The Transcendent Mother Machine and her newfound glow, they begin to sing and dance once more.\u00a0 The Embraced, this time, offer a song of peace and prayer for She who overcame the mantle of The Destroyer.\u00a0\u00a0 The Celebration of Transcendence reverberates up to the surface and fills The Deep with joy.<\/p>\n The initial high was over.\u00a0 Mother Machine understood the lesson but now started to understand the consequences of the lesson itself.\u00a0 The Depression of Enlightenment sank in;\u00a0 She could no longer be ignorant to not only the path in front of Her but the wrongs of the past.\u00a0 Doubt crept in the edges of her mind,\u00a0 in crevices and shadows just beyond the brightness of enlightenment.\u00a0 Could She do the right thing? The world is full of pain, injustice, poverty, and abuse. Courts abusing their power, police abandoning their duties, and politicians refusing the act are typical from coast to coast.
