Bumper Stickers. They’re supposed to give you a quick morsel, a brief thought as you’re passing by (or being passed). Perhaps they say more than they’re supposed to, at times? <\/p>\n
I saw one recently, that’s been around for a while: “mean people suck, nice people swallow.” <\/p>\n
It got me thinking. How does one swallow if one does not first suck? Assuming, of course, we’re talking about the same activity. <\/p>\n
So, according to them you start off mean and then – potentially – become nice. That is also odd, because the resulting niceness is only achieved in the act of being mean which was itself something nice due to its obvious result.<\/p>\n
It’s contradictory.<\/p>\n
It also advertises that the owner of this sticker believes the end justifies the means. The nice ends which comes before the mean means.<\/p>\n
