{"id":28137,"date":"2021-12-29T10:44:15","date_gmt":"2021-12-29T15:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/anchorwind.net\/2\/?p=28137"},"modified":"2023-05-05T13:27:07","modified_gmt":"2023-05-05T17:27:07","slug":"dear-diary-fear-is-an-absence-of-trust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anchorwind.net\/2\/dear-diary-fear-is-an-absence-of-trust\/","title":{"rendered":"Dear Diary, Fear is an Absence of Trust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Diary,<\/p>\n<p>Fear is an absence of trust in the process of resolution.\u00a0 In other words, we believe or suspect some step in the resolution process to fail and thus leave things unresolved.\u00a0 Fear and anger are intrinsically related, as anger gives us the drive to protect the important stuff, but fear tells us we will fail.\u00a0 To make matters worse,\u00a0 fear isn&#8217;t solely caused by internal concerns.\u00a0 Large for-profit enterprises excel at keeping their audience scared and malleable by the fearmongers.\u00a0 Audience members become radicalized and begin acting upon their hatred to our detriment.<\/p>\n<p>Hatred is an effect, not a cause; hatred stems from an inability to right a wrong over sufficient time.\u00a0 Hatred is the corrupted, amplified version of anger.\u00a0 To maintain active hatred, we must be consistently reminded of whatever we feel we can&#8217;t protect.\u00a0 The same large for-profit enterprises excel at this, too,\u00a0 giving their audience unending exposure to the narrative, regardless of factual accuracy.\u00a0 By having our failures, real or perceived, consistently thrown at us, we perpetuate the cycle of anger and fear.\u00a0 We are told how a problem persists until we believe we cannot fix it and thus become afraid.<\/p>\n<p>The cycle of anger and fear does lead to hatred if enough energy is invested in maintaining it.\u00a0 I went the other direction,\u00a0 I gave up on myself.\u00a0 I wanted to protect myself and my environment but failed to the point I ceased to try.\u00a0 Fear tells us we will fail somewhere along the path, and I gave into my fear and didn&#8217;t bother walking the path.\u00a0 Fear, however, does not prevent us from feeling angry.\u00a0 In many situations, it exacerbates it as our focus is continuously brought on why we are in this cycle of fear and anger initially.\u00a0 We get this energy to change something but believe we can&#8217;t and fall further into despair.<\/p>\n<p>How do we break the cycle of anger and fear?\u00a0 Practicing forgiveness and being non-judgmental is a good starting point.\u00a0 Forgiveness is about relieving ourselves of the burden of change.\u00a0 We become consumed by hatred or fall into despair due to a failure to change something.\u00a0 As a part of the forgiveness process,\u00a0 we need to examine our judgments on the situation.\u00a0 How much of what makes us angry is in our control?\u00a0 How much energy are we investing into trying to change things to suit our individual will rather than accept what is?\u00a0 For example,\u00a0 I forgave myself for not being able to stop or counter the for-profit fearmongers.\u00a0 \u00a0In truth, they were never something I could influence.\u00a0 I remain in staunch opposition to them and their methods, but I have accepted my path is not theirs. \u00a0I should not invest energy in perpetuating the anger and fear cycle because I try to force my will onto a situation beyond my control.<\/p>\n<p>Breaking the cycle of anger and fear means we will naturally climb out of despair over time.\u00a0 The hatred will fade as we are no longer giving it fuel.\u00a0 When we have successfully forgiven ourselves, we have the freedom to shift focus to the present where it belongs.\u00a0 By being present, we can start to take one step at a time down the path ours to walk.\u00a0 With each step comes small successes we can use to build momentum to let go of fear.\u00a0 Fear, after all, is about mistrust.\u00a0 When we look back at all our accomplishments (big and small), we can learn to trust ourselves going forward.\u00a0 \u00a0Having let go of fear,\u00a0 we can grasp hope and give ourselves meaning every day.\u00a0 Break the cycle, you are worth it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Diary, Fear is an absence of trust in the process of resolution.\u00a0 In other words, we believe or suspect some step in the resolution process to fail and thus leave things unresolved.\u00a0 Fear and anger are intrinsically related, as anger gives us the drive to protect the important stuff, but fear tells us we [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[304],"tags":[307,179,172,316],"class_list":["post-28137","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-dear-diary","tag-307","tag-anger","tag-communication","tag-forgiveness"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Dear Diary, Fear is an Absence of Trust - Anchorwind<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Dear Diary, Fear is an Absence of Trust | a thought regarding how we can break the cycle of anger and fear to live in the present.
